An Intro To Us: What is Eco Revival?
If you’re here, it’s because you’re confused. Which makes sense, I would be too! So here’s the spill on what Eco Revival actually is and how we’re making active attempts to improve our environment and its ecosystems.
A Bit Of Background
Eco Revival is… well the truth is, it's been a lot of things. It started as a young girl's dream to begin a clothing brand. It seemed trendy, current, and a good way to make money. Everyone else was doing it, but I thought the way to be different was to make it eco friendly. As it developed, I figured out that this isn’t what I want to do! I dug deeper to remember that I have ALWAYS had a love for the Earth and its creatures, and been utterly disgusted by the way we humans treat it. So the clothes got put to the side. They’re still there, because not all people are inclined to donate to organizations. So this way, you can call it getting your money's worth. (I also like designing recycled crewnecks with sharks on them… shhhhh)
Fast forward to current day, and I still couldn’t give you an exact definition. But I can tell you the plan. At this moment, I am doing everything in my power to EDUCATE myself more and more. There is no limit to how much you can learn, I am a firm believer in that. And the more I learn, the better I can plan projects, help the ecosystems, and write these very articles for you guys! I call it learn it, teach it, do it. That very system is what I’m doing right now! Here’s what else I’m doing:
Jumping On Volunteer Projects
I’m currently searching around for conservation volunteer projects here in Costa Rica that I can help with! The best way to learn something is hands-on, and I can learn SO much from people experienced in the field. This way I can try it myself too! The ones that I am looking at right now are as follows:
-
Crocodile Catch and Release! I have a friend who works with an organization that catches misplaced and/or hurt crocodiles and releases them back to the wild. (Steve Irwin-esque, isn’t it?)
-
Baby Turtle Patrol! There is a great organization for this, helping release the sea turtles, tracking and monitoring, and learning so much about the sea turtle field!
-
Week Long Volunteer Trip! There are many opportunities for this one, I can travel out a few cities over, stay in a hostel like accommodation, and learn about many different areas of the field while being hands-on over the span of a week!
Educating Others
While I learn, I’m educating others as I go. I gather my information from reliable sources, about causes that stand out as pertinent to me. Then I compile that into an easy to understand, fun and educational form! Here’s where you can learn some new facts and how to help the cause:
-
Eco Revival Articles. That’s what you’re reading right now! While this one isn’t about a specific topic, (because it’s the first one I've ever written) I plan to write about passed laws, marine facts, things that need to change, and how you can make improvements in your daily life to help!
-
Eco Revival Instagram. Believe it or not, I post on instagram too! There you’ll mostly find marine facts and updates on the projects, in a condensed, quicker form.
-
Eco Revival YouTube. The last of my sources for you, here you can find the video format of these articles, docuseries about my projects, and Eco Revival podcasts with special guests educated in the field!
What The Future Holds
This is all I have for you now, but I hope it was insightful about what I do and how I’m constantly improving the process! I plan to have one more drop this year, jump on two conservation projects, and launch 3-5 podcast episodes a month! Keep checking out for more info, and let me know if you have some info for me! As always, email me at ecorevivalbiz@gmail.com or submit a message in the contact form if you have any questions, suggestions, or need anything else at all. I love you all. Go be the change you want to see!
